Bharat Bhise, CEO and Founder
Bharat is the CEO and Founder of Bravia Capital. He has leadership responsibility for Bravia Capital’s investment strategy. He is an experienced global investor in transportation and logistics, having built the world’s 4th largest aircraft leasing business and the world’s 2nd largest container leasing business.
Prior to Bravia Capital, Bharat served as consultant to leading aviation companies advising on freighter conversions. As President of C-S Aviation Services (“CS”), a Quantum fund investee company, he built the world’s first system integration business and developed Aviation Investments Group for Soros-Chatterjee companies. Bharat led CS’s investment in Hainan Airlines in 1995, and was the first foreigner to hold a Board Directorship of an airline in China. With the help of CS, Hainan Airlines grew from a 4 aircraft company to a 75 aircraft and 4 airlines company by 2000. After leaving CS, Bharat continued to help Hainan Airlines to grow its fleet and its routes. From 2008 onwards, Bharat through Bravia Capital has led HNA Group Co., Ltd’s outbound China investments in transportation and logistics. Bharat holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors), Delhi University, India and M.B.A., Adelphi University, New York.
Vivek Bendre, President
Mr. Vivek Bendre is President of the Prorietary Capital Investments Team at Bravia. He joined Bravia in September 2016, after a long and illustrious career that spanned over 50 years. During his career, Mr. Bendre has performed various functions across a multitude of industries and geographies.
Mr. Bendre started his career as a lecturer in Economics and Statistics across various Universities in India. He went on to work with the United Commercial Bank (UCO Bank) within various departments (forex, economics, branch management) for over 15 years in India and in the UK. More recently, Mr. Bendre served as Senior Vice President for International trade and finance at the Jordache International Group in New York where he advised senior management on matters pertaining to US Customs, contract negotiations with airlines and shipping lines as well as credit management. Prior to joining Bravia, Mr. Bendre consulted with the International Apparel Group in New York on International trade and finance matters.
Mr. Bendre has a Masters Degree in Economics with Honors from Nagpur University, India. He is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers as well as The Bankers Institute of England.
Sharon Farhaad Dastoor, Investment Manager, India
Sharon joined Bravia Capital in 2014. She is primarily involved in all aspects of deal making such as originating, analysing, structuring and closure of Investment opportunities in the India office. Prior to Bravia Capital, she worked with the Bennett Coleman Group in their private equity team where she was responsible for business development, analysis, structuring and negotiations and deal closure of several investment opportunities across multiple sectors. Mrs. Dastoor holds an MBA degree from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad and is a qualified CFA. She is also fluent in Hindi and Gujarati.
Kyna Lo, General Counsel
Ms. Lo joined Bravia Capital in 2013. As General Counsel, Ms. Lo is responsible for overseeing the legal aspects of Bravia Capital’s principal activities and investments and managing the execution of transactions. Ms. Lo is admitted as an attorney in the State of New York and has held attorney positions at a number of major international law firms, where her practice covers a broad range of corporate transactions, including cross-border mergers, acquisitions, reorganisations, private equity and joint venture investments, capital market transactions and other general corporate matters. Ms. Lo received her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Hong Kong and is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Ricky Ip, Legal Manager
Mr. Ip joined Bravia Capital in 2014 and is responsible for managing the structuring, execution and closing of transactions and handling company secretarial and compliance matters for the Bravia Capital entities. Prior to joining Bravia Capital, Mr. Ip was a vice president at Bank of America Merrill Lynch advising on product documentation and issues arising from client on-boarding. Mr. Ip previously worked in Electronic Arts and in Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. Mr. Ip received his Master of Laws from the University of Hong Kong and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Manchester Metropolitan University. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and is conversant in Cantonese and Mandarin.
Jenny Chan, Accounting and Office Manager
Ms. Chan joined Bravia in 2011 and is responsible for the full range of financial/accounting management, as well as office management at Bravia’s Hong Kong office. Prior to Bravia, Ms. Chan worked with a number of listed companies in Hong Kong and has 20 years of experience as an accounting professional. Ms. Chan holds a Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of New South Wales in Australia, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Beijing Polytechnic University. She is a CPA Australia holder, and is also fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
Michael Hoy, Assistant Accountant
Mr. Hoy join the company in 2014. Prior joining Bravia Capital, He works in accounting field more than 10 years in Hong Kong. Mr. Hoy holds a Bachelor Degree of Business Administration major in accounting from Taiwan Fu-Jen Catholic University. He is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, English.
